Balmacewen plays a number of matches throughout the year. Along with annual fixtures against John McGlashan and Southland Boys we play in the annual Sassenachs Rugby Challenge.

We have 2 boys and 1 girls team that plays in the annual Sassenachs tournament in Term 3.
