Message from the Principal

It has been a very busy and exciting few weeks. I hope you catch a quick breath and enjoy the Easter break!

Kia ora koutou

There have been many highlights so far this term. The Year 7's have enjoyed their Waihola experience in what has been another successful camp programme. It's great to see the lovely photos and read camp reflections. It's such a good way for our students to extend their friendship groups and develop new skills. It certainly helps us build relationships and get to know children better.

A big thank you to all camp helpers who gave their time to support our programme. It's very much appreciated, we couldn't do it without you!

A big part of our learning programme is to engage in our local environment and use community resources. and expertise. Making learning relevant and authentic helps students with purpose and engagement. The Year 8 Quiz Nights are a good example of this! As you'll see in this newsletter there are plenty of examples of curriculum integration where a variety of curriculum areas come together in the final product.

I hope that you enjoy a nice Easter weekend and manage to take a brief break from the busyness of family life. In our highly digital world I highly recommend turning off the screens, getting out the puzzles, cards, board games, books and make the most of some low tech fun opportunities.
