Kia Ora Parents and Caregivers We extend a very warm welcome to all Whānau and friends of our Year 8 community.

Thank you to everyone who has helped with our class programmes this term. We have been busy using our community resources and experts to engage and motivate our students. It has been a very rewarding term and our activities have included...

- Our Beach Ed visit to the St Kilda Life Surf Saving Club

-  Using the museum outreach programme to explore the gold rush in Otago.

-  Having a quest speaker from the Hocken Library to help us navigate online resources.

-  Holding our school histories programme where students experienced activities from yesteryear.

Room 1 had a fabulous time at Berwick Camp and the remaining classes are busy preparing for their visit. These experiences would not happen without your help, so a massive Ngā Mihi from all students and staff.

This term we have been learning about both events and people who have shaped our local region. Over the next 2 weeks each syndicate will be hosting a quiz night to showcase their learning. This quiz is part of the students' PBL for the term. The students have planned and organised this event to teach their community about the history of Otago.  It will be a fantastic way to end the term.

Ngā mihi
