Year 7 Hooked On Science PBL

This week students have completed their Hooked on Science PBL - the first completed project for the year. Our videos are currently being sorted and uploaded to our school Youtube account and some will be selected to be added to the Museum Fun Science video channel also.

It has been a very busy term for our students. During lockdown we introduced students to some online fun science challenges and also had them starting to make "how to" videos in preparation for their return to school. Once back in our classrooms, we ignited our PBL unit with the help of Amadeo to inspire students to create their own science videos. Many hours of planning, critiquing, script writing, video skills sessions with Mrs Phillipa Dick and then filming and editing to bring their first project together. It has been a huge learning journey for some - particularly around time management, meeting deadlines, working collaboratively and being organised - some of our super skills that we focus on. This week students will get the opportunity to share, reflect and evaluate on their learning.

A huge thank you must go to Amadeo who has supported students with the resources, filming and ideas over the last few weeks. His passion, expertise and enthusiasm has been contagious and we are lucky to have had his input.

At some stage over the holidays we hope to collate a collection of the videos to share to parents - keep an eye on your emails:)
