We're at the end of an action packed Term 2. Time to take stock, rest up and reflect!

Tēnā koutou e te whanau

We have enjoyed a very busy and successful Term 2. I'm very grateful to all students, staff and parents for their excellent efforts over the last 10 weeks.

It has been a busy term for Year 8's with Berwick Camp being a highlight. It's a great programme and offers students fun and challenging opportunities in a suppportive environment. Many nice stories from our camps about students conquering their fears and perservering in adversity. Building skills and confidence for life ahead! Special thanks to all camp volunteers who gave their time so generously. Without you, these wonderful experiences could not take place.

As usual in this newsletter, lots of great examples of Balmacewen students excelling in a wide range of activities. I'm constantly amazed at the talent, creativity and energy our students display. Mid year is also a good time to reflect, rest and prepare for what's ahead. Term 3 will see a fresh opportunity to set new goals and take on new challenges.

It's a time of celebration in our community with Eid occuring this week and Matariki in the holidays. A time to give thanks, remember loved ones and plan for the future. I hope you all stay safe and well and enjoy some great family time over the holiday break!

Eid Mubarak!   Mānawatia a Matariki!
