Year 8 Bags - Functional & Fantastic

By Angela Burden | Posted: Thursday July 2, 2020
Our Year 8 students have had the opportunity to develop a standard bag template to suit their needs. The have created lunch bags, toilet bags, larger swimming/sports bags. Some even made pot plant baggies.

It is always fantastic seeing what students choose to create when they have the option of developing a design to meet their individual needs. There were many new learning experiences along the way. Some students found the thick nylon challenging to measure and sew accurately but loved the look of it and chose it for it's function of being water resistant. Others noted that the most important step was the ironing. They realised this helps achieve a professional look for their final product.

All students can be proud of the progress they have made in our Fabrics Technology room this term. It is a super space to explore and create in. We are all looking forward to diving in to learning about the screen printing process after the holidays. I hope you all get the chance to enjoy using your new, functional and fantastic drawstring bags!
