Balmacewen had two teams competing in the South Island Intermediate Schools Water Polo tournament at Moana Pool this past weekend.

Games started on Friday afternoon and continued through Saturday to the semi finals and finals on Sunday.

There were approximately 22 teams across two grades from Christchurch, Invercargill and Dunedin competing.

Both of our teams showed great improvement over the tournament. Our A team (Balmac Gold) ended up a satisfying 4th place in the A Pool, while our Blue came 8th in the B Pool.

Charlotte Thompson received most valuable female player of the tournament in the A grade.

Special thank you to ex Balmacewen students Nick Pryde and Samuel Wardhaugh who helped to coach the teams

Gold Team: Michael Ruske, Leo Holt, Elliott Alloo, Felix Hill, Nic Robinson, Walter Savage, Charlotte Thompson, Emily Cochrane, Zoe McCane and Eli Familton

Blue Team: Angus Henderson, Emma Christie, Aroura Hill, Keala Hancock, Russell Nicholson, Kallan Buchanan, Thomas Wheelan-Henderson, Emily Hall, Richard Wang and Brooke Callon.
