2017 Beginning of Year Info

The first day for 2017 will be Wednesday Feb 1st.

We welcome all students, year 7 and 8 into the school hall for a 8.50am start.

School starts           8.50am

Interval                 10.25am – 10.45am

Lunch                    12.15pm – 1.15pm

School finishes        3.00pm

 

UNIFORM:

Our uniform is available new from H&J Smith  and NZ Uniforms or second hand from our Uniform Exchange (located in the school hall). 

 

The Uniform Exchange will be open on:

 

Tuesday         20 December                5.00pm – 7.00pm

Wednesday     21 December               10.00am – 12.00pm

Thursday        19 January                   10.00am – 12.00pm

Friday            20 January                    5.00pm – 7.00pm

 

GIRLS UNIFORM:

Macewen Tartan Kilt, White Blouse, Red Jersey, Navy Blue Tights or White Ankle Socks, Black Lace Up Leather Shoes.  See our website for images.

 

BOYS UNIFORM:

Grey Winter Weight Shorts, Grey Shirt, Red Jersey, Balmacewen Intermediate Socks, Black Lace Up Leather Shoes.  See our website for images.

 

SPORTS UNIFORM:

Balmacewen Sports Top, Navy Blue Shorts, Sports Socks, Sports Shoes.

Sports Tops are only available from school and will be distributed the first week of term.  

We also have available an optional Balmacewen Sports Jacket which can be purchased from the school office.

 

STATIONERY:

A stationery pack (estimated $55) with all required items can be purchased from the 20th December by going to this link:

Alternatively, a list of stationery requirements will be available from the office but not until week 1, term 1 next year.

 

BUSES: 

There are no designated school buses; however public routes provide useful times for school purposes.

 

PAYMENTS:

An invoice detailing all major costs for Term 1 (including sports top and stationery) will be issued in week 2.  Payments can be made at school by cash and cheque, or through online banking.  We do not have eftpos facilities.

 

CLASS PLACEMENT: 

We take every care placing students according to their needs.  Whilst we are happy to receive information that may assist us in assigning classes, the school cannot guarantee to meet placement requests.  Our classes are not streamed and show a balance of pupils from contributing schools.

 

MEET THE TEACHER EVENING: 

This is an early opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and other parents to discuss class programmes and expectations.  This will be held on Wednesday 8 February at 7pm.
