Tēnā koutou
I hope this newsletter finds you and your whānau happy and healthy and surviving the busy end of year!
This is the last newsletter of the year and as usual you will see plenty of great stories about student achievement and success. It's great to celebrate the excellent attitude and effort of our students in a variety of areas.
My sincere thanks go to all the hardworking Balmacewen staff for their excellent efforts this year. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to work alongside such an outstanding group of dedicated professionals. I also acknowledge everyone who has given their time and energy to help Balmacewen. Without your support we simply couldn't do what we do!
It's a fun time of the year. It has been great to watch our Year 7's enjoying their Term 4 PBL performances. Performing arts is such an important curriculum area and to see the energy and enthusiasm on display has been so good.
Our Year 8's are also enjoying the final days of their time at Balmacewen. There's plenty of good activity with social dancing, touch tournament and of course the Year 8 Social.
I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 16 December 6.00pm at the Regent Theatre for our 2025 Prizegiving. It's a lovely way to round off the year and to celebrate outstanding student achievement.
This is my last newsletter. Your new Principal Corey Todd will be joining Balmacewen next year. I wish him all the very best for his new role and hope he enjoys his time at Balmacewen as much as I have.
Best wishes to the Balmacewen whānau as you head into Christmas and the holiday season. Stay safe, happy and healthy.
Kia tōmairangi te korowai manaaki ki runga ki a koe i roto i āu tini mahi katoa!
(Allow the cloak of care settle upon you as you complete the many tasks before you!)
Ngā mihi manaakitanga
