Kia ora koutou katoa
It really is hard to believe that we are halfway through the year!
We are approaching the end of Term 2 and it has been great to see the excellent energy in our school.
We are nearing Matariki. A time to celebrate and connect with whanau, remember the past and look forward to the future! A time of reflection and gratitude. There are many ways to celebrate Matariki and we will be doing this at school with a Matariki breakfast and a special assembly on Friday June 27.
Learning programmes are in full swing with a nice variety of PBL projects coming to a head. With a focus on adolescent health, there have been many good examples of new knowledge and skills being developed. The associated skills of teamwork, communication and organisation have been widely on display.
Teachers have also been busy collating assessment material with to contribute to mid year reports. The mid year report will provide you with information about your child's reading, writing and maths progress as well a general comment about your child's overall performance. Please engage with your child's teacher at our mid year parent teacher interviews. There is no doubt that when home and school work together effectively, the outcomes for your child are improved.
Please continue to support your child's learning at home. Whether it's maths, spelling, reading or topic based help. Remember it doesn't need to be long. Short, sharp 10 minute sessions can be quite sufficient. The extra encouragement you give will make a difference!
Finally, a big thank you to those who volunteer to support our camps and sports teams. Your contribution is much appreciated. Thank you for giving your time to support our students.
Ngā mihi nui
