Spelling Out Our Kiwi Pride: Year 8 Masterpieces

Recently, our Year 8 Art students embarked on an exciting visual arts journey, and the results are absolutely spectacular! The students were given a unique brief: design and paint a giant, A2-sized letter that helps spell out either "NEW ZEALAND” or “ AOTEAROA.”
Each student was challenged to use their letter as a canvas to tell a story about New Zealand and highlight what is most important to them about living here.
Looking at the incredible artwork coming out of the art, it is clear our students have a deep appreciation for Kiwi culture, our beautiful environment, and classic summer memories. The completed letters reveal a fantastic mosaic of life in Aotearoa.
The creativity, attention to detail, and vibrant use of colour from our Year 8s have been truly outstanding. Once all the letters are completed, they will be displayed together to proudly spell out "NEW ZEALAND" and "AOTEAROA" in a colourful celebration of our home. We can't wait for the school community to see the final collaborative masterpiece. Ka pai, Year 8!
