Year 8 Girls Basketball

This year, basketball at Balmacewen has honestly been awesome. We had heaps of teams in all the different grades, which really shows how many people were keen to play. There were so many chances to get on the court, including two exchanges with Southland Girls’, Southland Boys’, Columba, and John McGlashan. We also played in the Intermediate School competition.

One of the best parts of the season was my team, the Year 8 A Girls, making it all the way to the finals against Tahuna. The game was super intense and went into extra time after four full-on quarters. In the end, we lost by just one point, which was really tough, but we were proud of how hard we played.

This season was honestly unforgettable, and it’s something our team will always remember.

Year 8 Basketball Team Takes 3rd Place!

The Year 8 basketball team ‘OKC’ had an amazing season competing in the Intermediate Grade basketball competition at the Edgar Centre. The team showed great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the year. After battling hard against some tough opposition, the team finished in an impressive 3rd place. Every player contributed, whether it was scoring points, making great passes, grabbing rebounds, or defending strongly. The team should be incredibly proud of their achievement. They worked together, encouraged each other, and never gave up, even when the games were challenging. A huge congratulations to the OKC basketball team on earning 3rd place. We look forward to seeing what they can achieve next season!

OKC Finished 3rd! 🥉

It was a tough day for the OKC basketball team, but we can still be proud of what we achieved!

We faced two strong teams, Trinity and Taieri. Unfortunately, we lost both games, but the team kept fighting until the final whistle. 💪🏀

Even though the results didn't go our way, OKC finished 3rd overall! 🥉 That is a great achievement and shows how hard the team worked throughout the competition.

The players supported each other, worked hard, and never gave up. There were some great passes, shots, rebounds, and defensive plays from the whole team.

A big well done to everyone who played, supported the team, and gave their best. We may have lost two games, but we finished third and can come back stronger next time!
