Winter Sports Update

At week five of term 2, we are fully into the swing of our winter sports.

Basketball, Hockey and Netball are underway, with numerous Balmacewen teams taking part in these weekly sports. We must thank our coaches and managers for making this happen, we couldn’t do it without your support.

We have had some trips away this term, Chess Regionals, Girls Kiwi Tag Tournament (Rugby League) and the Netball Festival. Chess Regionals was a success with Balmacewen taking out the top 3 places and top girl. Both our year 7 and year 8 Kiwi Tag teams came away with the win and 90 students played a full day of Netball at the Edgar Centre in fluro!

We are looking forward to some upcoming events, especially the exchange with Southland Boys and Girls High School mid June, a Christchurch Water Polo Festival for our Gold team and the Otago Interschool Teams Chess Champs.
