Check out some of our recent poetic writing. Haiku and poems about Autumn and "If I were a Storm" personification poems.

If I were a storm..

If I were a storm I would creep over cities and send bolts of lightning at the tallest towers,

I would swirl like a hurricane over farms and drench everything turning the earth into a damp, dark, mess.

I would fire up the sky and give humans a show of light,

I would pick the trees bare,

When I am done I would hurl my dark skies away and surge into places beyond humans.

By Alena

THE LEAF

The leaf flutters down to the sea of colourful leaves below

The fire roars like a lion filling my room with warmth

The birds sing sweet melodies in my ear

The sun peeks through the trees casting its light on the frost beneath by Camille

The dew clings to the blades of grass like a necklace

The tree stands stark and bare watching the day go by

The bird sings sweet melodies in the early hours of morning

The leaves remember all the good times as it dies and decays on the cold hard ground

By Arnelle

I would overflow oceans like a bath left on.

I would roam far and wide lashing the earth with thunder and lighting

I would tear through countries like the Hulk

I would blow layers of snow like a snow machine on a mountain
