Tornadoes Touch Team in devastating form!

On Friday 4 November the Year 8A Touch Team participated in an invitational tournament run by Kings High School. First up we played The Tahuna A Team (Kereru) and managed to win 3-1. Round 2 was against DNI where we won 11-0 and the last game in the round robin was against East Otago where we won 8-2.

This meant that we qualified 1st heading into the semi finals so we had to play DNI again and won 13-0. Tahuna also won their final so wet met again the final. It was a tight battle which sea-sawed between both teams and saw us finally come away with a 5-3 win.

The Kings High School students who ran the tournament did a fabulous job of refereeing and provided some entertaining commentating on the sideline as well. They ran a free sausage sizzle for all the boys involved and also gave out prizes for each team at the end of the day. Deserving recipients for Balmac were: Luke, Zach and Maz.

The whole team were epic on and off the field and it was a pleasure to coach them. Well done boys. Thanks also to Ronnie for managing on the day and to all the other parents that popped along to watch and support.
