Tēnā koutou katoa ngā Whanau o Balmacewen Intermediate

As we wrap up a fantastic two terms, I want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing achievements of our students. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or performing with our school bands or Kapa Haka their hard work and dedication has been wonderful to witness.

Beyond academics and activities, our students have also shown incredible heart. Initiatives like the Pyjama Project and Bags of Hope highlight the generosity and community spirit that thrive within our school.

A major highlight of this term was our wonderful exchange with Southland Girls' High School and Southland Boys' High School. Events like this take an immense amount of coordination, and I want to extend a massive thank you to all the staff and parents who made this exchange not only possible, but incredibly enjoyable for everyone involved.

I would also like to express my deepest thanks and gratitude to my colleagues and the many parents and families who dedicate their time to running and supporting our co-curricular activities. Your commitment keeps our school vibrant and full of opportunity and it is humbling to see the energy and enjoyment at Basketball, Netball and Hockey. Additionally, a special mention must go to our Kapa Haka group for their wonderful support of Ang Stewart as she moved to the next chapter of her career. Ang will be missed and wish her all the best at Te Hau Ora.

Looking ahead, we will soon be sending out a parent survey. Your feedback is vital to us, so please take a few moments to complete it when it arrives.

Thank you all for a brilliant first half of the year, and I wish you all a safe and restful upcoming break.
