This term, all classes will continue to build on and strengthen the key skills and values developed throughout the year. We will place a strong emphasis on helping students to:
Relate to others with kindness, respect and consideration.
Demonstrate self-management by taking responsibility for their learning, staying focused, completing tasks, and taking pride in their work.
Work cooperatively with others by communicating effectively, contributing positively and being reliable members of the team.
Make positive choices that contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
These skills are an important foundation for success, not only in the classroom but also as students prepare for the opportunities and challenges of the future. By continuing to develop these skills, our students will be better equipped to become confident, responsible and respectful young people.
Integrated Units of Work
Students have thoroughly enjoyed our science investigations this term, particularly the opportunity to participate in a range of hands-on experiments and practical investigations. A key focus has been developing their understanding of independent, dependent and controlled variables, and learning how these are used to design fair and reliable scientific investigations.
Our next unit will focus on natural hazards and disaster preparedness. Students will explore natural hazards such as flooding and earthquakes, investigate their potential impacts, and learn how individuals, families and communities can prepare for and respond to these events. The aim is to develop practical knowledge and skills that students can apply in real-life situations.
School Values
At our school, respect and kindness are important values that help create a safe, positive and happy environment for all students. We want every child to feel valued, included and supported at school. Communication is key, so if your child has a concern, worry or something is affecting their wellbeing, please contact the school as soon as possible. Working together allows us to understand what is happening and provide the right support to help your child feel happy, safe and confident at school.
