Room 23's start to Term Four!

We've had a busy start to our term, and it's only week 2!

We were lucky enough to have Will Kindley from Otago Cricket in to visit us in week one to teach us the fundamental skills of cricket. This involved some throwing and catching, some bowling, and we ended with a game to put batting, fielding and throwing into context. We really enjoyed our session, and have since played the game Will taught us.

We have started our topic, 'Challenge', and have had great discussions mainly around recapping puberty over the past two weeks. It has been great to hear that these topics have been discussed at home to follow up our in-class discussions.

Ms. Dick will be visiting us every second Wednesday to enrich us with tools, tips and tricks that will help us with graphic design. This week she showed us the website 'gravit', where we were able to design and create pictures, characters and backgrounds using different tools. We loved this session and we are looking forward to the next!

Speeches in Room 23 are soon coming to an end as we have been presenting these this week. I have been impressed with the effort that the children have put into these, and the confidence they have presenting in front of their peers, as this sometimes cannot be easy! Watch this space to see who goes through to semi finals!

We have so many things coming up over the next few weeks - it's going to be a busy term!!
