What's hot in the kitchen with the Year 7's

The second group have just about finished their time in the Food Technology Room.

The group have been busy putting their own twist on recipes.  Some very creative flavours of Anzac Biscuits were made to suit student's own family.  Hopefully they met the brief and the whole family could enjoy them.  We had to think about dietary needs and were able to adapt them to suit gluten-free, dairy-free, diabetic, and vegan diets as well as individual likes and dislikes.

The bread flavours were also very creative and the smells lingered around school for the whole day.  We had cheesy garlic, cinnamon & fruit, chilli & garlic,  and rosemary and linseed amongst the varieties being made.

The Muesli has also been a huge success.  Lost of choices with the additive options being used.  They have made their own toasted oats and added layers of flavours and colours with a wide range of  choices including seeds, dried fruit and other cereals.  We have also managed to create our own Gluten-free muesli.

Next week we are finishing off with burgers and cake-in-a-cup!  I'm sure we will have some amazing combinations.
