Writing Success!

Balmacewen writers have experienced huge success in the Extra Short Story and Poetry competitions.

It has been exciting to see Balmacewen writers experiencing success and becoming published authors and poets.

In the year 7/8 section Ashleigh Allum won with her story You Can't Sink a Rainbow.  Shima Jack came second in this section with her story Stars on Earth.  Kate Waters was highly commended in this section as well with her story Life Pieces.

In the year 7/8 poetry section Lily Knox won with her poem called  The man with the violin.  Second place was Darcy Monteath with her poem Dazzle.

All of these pieces are well deserving of their success. They are all strong and powerful pieces of writing, showing a maturity and sophistication of much more experienced writers.  Many of these pieces were re-worked several times before entering the competition to ensure that their work was the best that they could do.

All their work can be read on our website.  Check out the writing extension tab to enjoy their work.

A huge congratulations to all our Balmacewen prize winners!
