The Balmacewen boys cricket team travelled to Christchurch to take on the best in the country.

The Balmacewen team experienced cricket at the very top level in the national finals. The boys performed extremely well, winning 3 out of their 5 matches. Twenty20 cricket is fast moving and exciting and the boys enjoyed good wins over Raroa and Otumoutai and a thrilling last ball win over Kings from Auckland. The team had close losses to Huntly  and Medbury.

The experience of playing on first class pitches at Lincoln was very special and definitely added to the atmosphere.

Ably led by Cameron Elliott, the team were outstanding ambassadors for the school and received many comments regarding their sportsmanship and attitude.

A great experience and one that will certainly add many learnings to the boys cricketing development.
