Year 7 December news

What has been happening in the Year 7 team this term?

It is hard to believe that this is the last newsletter for the year; it only seems like yesterday the Year 7 students were sitting in the hall on day one waiting anxiously for their names to be read out!

All classes have been working on their Term 4 ASPIRE inquiry of How can we celebrate?  (through dance and drama) and we are hosting our Inquiry showcase next week. There are plays, raps, dances, stop motion videos and lots more! It is really exciting to see the different takes on Celebration  that each class comes up with and it is great to see the progress in inquiry throughout the year.

Today we celebrated the with a Year 7 O'mathalon- it was a festival of mathematics - the sun was shining, the groups were working hard to solve problems and it was a fun celebration all round. Thanks to Mr Scott and the pupils of Room 25 for organising it.

I would also like to acknowledge your generosity for your recent contributions to the Presbyterian Support foodbank appeal.  The appeal was incredibly successful and we were able to hand over thousands of items today to the ladies from PSO.  So thank you and all the Year 7 children for their donations - I know that these donations will make some families life a little less stressful this Christmas.

As the year draws to a close, I would like to thank our Year 7 parent community for their ongoing support throughout the year. The Year 7 team are also really looking forward to watching our Year 7 pupils step up to be the leaders of the school in 2018 and we are excited to follow their progress!
